Pirttikylä team
The story of Pirttikylä began in the summer of 2022, when Kirsi Sarimaa drove to the yard of the former Kalliola camp center while looking for a place for a summer cottage for a friend. As soon as Kirsi arrived in the yard, she had a strong feeling that this was the place she had been looking for for a long time. Kirsi had long had the idea of a sanatorium and she felt that now the place had been found. It turned out that the place is for sale. Kirsi introduced Pirttikylä to others who were interested, and Janne Kukkonen joined the project with Kirsi. Together, they bought a place that had served as the congregation's camp center until then. Now they are working together to create a communal and empowering sanatorium in Pirttikylä, where people can come to heal. Below you can read more about Kirsi and Janne! |
Kirsi Sarimaa I was born healthy, but the first vaccination when I was two days old changed the course of my life. Allergies, asthma, rashes, pre-cancer, wear and tear, nearsightedness, thyroid problems, rheumatism symptoms and other continuous inflammatory cycles began. When I was 20 years old, my doctor prescribed me reflexology, a chiropractor and a solution coach. To use phytotherapy, homeopathy, trace elements, vitamins, amino acids, etc. Teaching how a human works, which makes healing possible. In two years I got better and started training, to help others help themselves. Back then, I was already dreaming of a place where I could train and heal others. I have been helping people for almost 40 years now. I finished my book by the end of 2022. In it, I advise how you can take care of your health yourself, without waiting for illnesses, learning to take responsibility for yourself. In July 2022, I drove with my friend to the yard of Pirttikylä, announcing: "this is my home, who lives here now?" In January 2023, I got more people interested to get to know Pirttikylä, and Janne was interested enough. |

Janne Kukkonen I was born in Ranua and my father was also an artist. From a young age, I could follow my father when he painted and get to know the secrets of art. My father died when I was 8 years old. In middle school, I got really excited about art and above all oil painting. I was taught by artists from Ranua. After junior high school, I went to Ranua Christian College and studied visual arts and later 1999-2003 visual arts department of South Karelia University of Applied Sciences. For about a year there, I received drawing and painting lessons from the St. Petersburg Academy, which improved me a lot. I have always been interested in classical art (realism). I live with my family in Nokia (wife and 5 children). I have been an entrepreneur and founder of the company Sadex Oy and I still do that full-time. I paint and draw as much as I can at other times. I have a business name (artist Janne Kukkonen) and I also do commissioned work. I have done a lot of portraits, nature-themed works and pencil drawings. This Pirttikylä has been a wonderful find and here you can find inspiration everywhere you look. The purpose is to get my own studio space here someday and also start organizing painting and drawing workshops for groups. Here you can find good spaces for painting sessions and outside there are majestic pine views and a touch of Lapland's atmosphere, which is nice to capture in the form of an open-air painting.
